Driver Delivery App V3 Workflow

The Driver Delivery App V3 offers a more advanced workflow when compared to V2, whereas it has the capability to integrate with a third-party logistics software. With this integration, the app will autopopulate a list of trips and deliveries based on the location and delivery crew or drivers.

The app comes with a user-friendly interface, enabling drivers to navigate the app with ease from an iOS or Android phone or tablet. Drivers can use the app from the beginning of their route to the end—all while capturing proof of delivery, maintaining the order status throughout the delivery route, sending automated status notifications to customers, and much more.

See for yourself what your drivers would experience by walking through the workflow of the app:

Step 2: View Available Trips

When logging in, users will see a list of their current trips. Through your integrated logistics software, drivers can be assigned different trips with one or multiple deliveries. Those trips will be shown here.

They can also filter their results by delivery crew and location by using the filters at the top of the screen.

Step 3: View Trip Details

When tapping into a trip, drivers can see the individual deliveries associated with it. On the "Trip" screen, they will be able to access the following information:

  • General Trip Details (e.g., the trip code and the driver’s user name)
  • "Out For Delivery" Button
  • Deliveries
    • All deliveries within a single trip will show here. Users will be able to see their deliveries in the order they will be delivered, along with details like the customer name and delivery address.

Step 4: Manage Trip Status

By selecting the "Out For Delivery" button under the "Actions" section of a trip, users can update the status for all deliveries under that trip. Once selected, the button will show a green checkmark, and all statuses will change to "Out For Delivery". Doing this will also notify customers that their orders are out for delivery. Customers will receive email and SMS status notifications depending on the notification permissions they have enabled.

Step 5: View Delivery Details

When a driver taps on an individual delivery, they will be brought to the delivery details page where they will be able to access the following information:

  • Full Order Details (e.g., customer name, company name, delivery contact number(s), delivery contact email, etc.)
  • Delivery Status (e.g., out for delivery, on my way, arrived, delivered, not delivered)
  • Delivery Address with GPS Directions
  • Deliver Items (e.g., name of items ordered, quantity ordered, and more)
  • Take Pictures
    • Users can capture and upload proof-of-delivery images using the app’s camera or by uploading photos from their device’s gallery.
  • Collect Signature
    • Users can capture a signature from your customers to sign off on the acceptance of goods.
  • Damage Waiver
    • Users can present a damage waiver for your customers to sign before finalizing the delivery.

Step 6: Manage Delivery Statuses

Using the delivery status dropdown, users can select statuses for individual deliveries while en route. Doing so will send automated email and SMS status notifications to customers depending on the notification permissions your customers have enabled. The status messages sent to customers can be customized if needed.

Step 7: Get Directions

By tapping on the directions icon, the app will open the account holder’s default navigation app and offer directions to the delivery destination. Users also have the ability to change their default navigation in the app’s settings.

Step 8: Delivery Items

Once they’ve arrived at their destination, users can select "Deliver Items" which will bring them to a screen with an itemized list of products to be delivered. The list will show the name of each product ordered, the quantity ordered, and the quantity shipped.

Users will also be able to manually add the quantity received, or quantity delivered, per item. If the quantity received does not match the quantity ordered, they can select a reason for change in quantity.

There is also an optional notes section under each item in the event drivers want to leave a custom note at the time of delivery.

Step 9: Add Proof-of-Delivery Images

By selecting "Take Pictures", users will be able to capture proof-of-delivery images and attach them to the order.

They have the option to use their device’s camera to take photos directly from the app. If it’s their first time using the camera function in the app, they will receive a notification from their device prompting them to grant the app camera permissions. Once access has been granted, they can begin taking photos using their camera.

They also have the ability to select photos from their device’s image gallery to upload. Drivers can select one or multiple images to upload at one time.

Once the images are taken with the camera or chosen from the gallery, they will appear under the "Order Pictures" section. They will also be available in the Customer Portal and Operations Portal, which is covered later in this documentation.

All images are also geotracked so that the date, time, and location of where they were taken and uploaded is recorded.

Step 10: Collect Proof-of-Delivery Signature

By selecting "Collect Signature", users will be able to collect a signature from your customers to sign off on the acceptance of goods. Touch-to-sign technology is built into the app so your customers can sign directly on the screen.

They will also have the option to send a copy of the proof-of-delivery document to a specific customer email address at this time.

Step 11: Complete Damage Waiver

A Damage Waiver is available within the app, and you can choose whether you’d like to make this a requirement of your drivers. The contents of the waiver are also customizable. If you choose to require a damage waiver, your drivers can present it to your customers and request a signature from them before finalizing the delivery.

Offline Mode

The Kodaris Driver Delivery App V3 supports a full offline mode. In instances where cellular data is not available, photos and files will be stored in the background of the app and uploaded at a later time when connection is restored. This ensures that the data and information your drivers log is not lost due to faulty connection.

App Support

If users experience a problem or bug within the app, they can report it by tapping on the "More Menu" icon on the home screen and selecting "Report a Problem". Doing this will open up a form they can fill out and submit.

View Proof-of-Delivery Files in the Customer Portal & Customer Mobile App

Once customers receive an order, they have the ability to view all related proof-of-delivery documents and images in the Customer Portal and the Customer Mobile App. All proof-of-delivery files (photos, signatures, waivers, checklists, etc.) will be available on the "Files" tab under an order. From here, they can preview and download the files.

View Proof-of-Delivery Files in the Operations Portal

While the customer can view their proof-of-delivery files, you can also view them for each order in the Operations Portal. All proof-of-delivery files will be available on the "Customer Files" tab under an order. From here, you can preview and download the files.
